The Federal Government has currently suspended the transfer of restricted firearms. This has effectively stopped the sale and acquisition of restricted firearms. Restricted PAL holders may still borrow restricted firearms for use at an approved range. The Chief Firearms Officer for British Columbia and Yukon still requires that all Designated Instructors of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course continue to offer the restricted firearms safety course.
